I'll start off with the updated pictures of the little girl since I know my parents/sisters are dying to see more and they need to see how all the cute stuff they sent is looking on little girl (finding newborn stuff wasn't as easy as one would think... at least when I went!)
loving the puppy, cute for sunday, in lavendar for grandma bird

cute while she sleeps

today on her 'birth'day
For those who haven't been updated on all things Avery... she was on weight checks after her 1st appointment because she only gained an ounce the first week, but she gained 7oz the next week, so she's clear of those and seems to be still putting on weight. She also had to get blood tests each week to test bellirubin... after the 3rd one she was released from those as long as she doesn't seem to be getting jaundice. Her eye appointments are still every few weeks, but she doesn't need eye drops anymore and her eye looks great (the doctor agrees, but wants to monitor it just in case for a bit).
Outside of medical things she is adorable and a great baby... she sleeps really well at night (I have to wake her up to feed her on most nights). She's awake a couple times a day for almost an hour (compared to sleeping ALL day the first few weeks). Her brother is finally started to accept her existence in the world and he will 'play' with her/check her out a few times a day... still just calling her baby and pointing out that she has hands and feet and a head, etc.
Since I haven't been leaving the house much... for multiple reasons 1. the heat 2. fear of what might happen with 2 kids (i know i'll get used to it, but its still awkward) 3. I get tired of hearing about how I shouldn't be taking her out 4. I can't swim and there are no storytimes etc, etc. ... SO I've been trying to do a craft of some sort with Porter everyday (almost). So we have been doing some letter activities which I will show you some other day, we've watercolored and he's developed a preference for markers over crayons, but the other day we made this crab. It turned out better than I expected.
The best part 'Crab' became Porter's best friend and went and did all kinds of things the rest of the day and for a few days after... he still gets to come out and play now and then!!
(I didn't capture anything but this one... the crab went down the slide... Porter not so much, he's developed a fear or boredom for the slide we got for him the day Avery came home from the hospital... didn't think it would come so soon)
proof he did like it for a day:
Porter had grown up a ton in the last few weeks... his vocab gets bigger by the minute. He is working on his colors, he knows a ton of animals, can count to 12... and he can 'spin' way above that sometimes, if you start counting he will start spinning in circles and counting-- cute and scary as he gets up in the teens! He knows lots of songs and loves to sing and do the actions... warning though if you start he will say Again (which means more) and he won't stop asking until you are worn out! Favorites include-- wheels on the bus, itsy bitsy spider, popcorn popping, the alligator snapping song, and head shoulders knees and toes. Another 'new' favorite of his is his backpack...or as he calls it his 'pack pack.' (its adorable the way he says it)! Bryce changed from the diaper bag to this backpack while I was in the hospital and he loves wearing it around now.
Its amazing to me how messy this boy gets... he usually baths twice a day! This night I made pizza and when the timer went off it wasn't quite done so I turned off the oven and left it in there... after two diaper changes and some crying (the kids not me) I remembered the pizza. It wasn't too bad, but not that great either. So I felt bad and with the pizza I gave him apple sauce and a jello pudding cup to make up for my slightly burnt pizza... he liked it all, and wore it all, as you can kind of see... the picture barely does the mess justice.

It seems like we've done a lot with Bryce's siblings lately, which has been fun. They all came over to swim one weekend, Porter has gone to play with Aunt Stacy for a day (he has SO much fun with her he took her his 'pack pack' the moment she came over tonight) and we've had dinner with them last weekend as well (Porter loved playing in the irrigation water), this weekend I got brave and took the kids to go swimming with Katie and her kids (pictures below, brave because I took them by myself its still scary to me especially swimming), then everyone came over for dessert tonight. =) fun times!

a little ring around the rosies in the water with Aunt Katie and Kawika

Jada, Porter and Israel jumping off the waterfall

Porter's sign that he is tired and ready to go... he lays down on the side of the pool

cute swimming suit that she was given, she didn't swim but she was cute!
Jada asked me why I put her in a swim suit when I wasn't going to have her get in...
very valid question-- what a silly mom =)

sunbathing in the shade while we swam
I think that's it for now... I was going to write out Avery's birth story since today was my due date and it seemed like a cute idea... but I started editing pictures and then writing this post and then we had 15 people over in my little house for some fresh peach cobbler and now I am too tired to do it well so it'll have to wait!
