this is me trying to get caught up

Now that we offically live on the other side of the fence... going back and forth over this ladder is done (and the internet has been moved) we can get everyone (especially grandparents) updated on what is going on.
(in case your wondering the boards are to keep Porter from climbing the ladder and getting stranded at the top... several times he was quick to the top, but terrified when he realized he had gotten all the way to the top! gave mom several heart attacks!)

With so much to update I'm just going by kid... this stuff is from the last month or so... first off Porter:
this is how he ate breakfast the morning after we moved because we hadn't moved the food,
so he is watching the little dvd player on top of the old tv and eating in style =)

A week before we moved we found a turtle sandbox for $15, it was cute I showed Porter on craigslist and asked him if he wanted it and he said 'Okay!' So we went and when I got him out he ran up to it and said 'turtle... I want,' he gave her the money and was so excited to take it home (his big sandbox isn't moving because its big and it doesn't have a bottom-- so sad, but we'll build another one someday)
Anyone who knows Porter well knows he loves popsicles and shares them with dad often. This day I gave him both, one for him and one for dad, he couldn't decided which one to give dad so he ran to his room and tried to keep both! One for each hand? I think not.

A year ago we couldn't get him to wear anything on his head or to wear sunglasses... now that he has fallen in love with Elmo, and Elmo talks about hats and such he LOVES to wear hats and shades... He found dad's bandana and kept saying on mom, on. He thought he looked cool.
On a side note this kid knows the whole intro to Elmo's world and sings it ALL the time.
With moving he's been watching dad fix lots of stuff... he found this board with screws in it and you could see the wheels turning in his head as he ran upstairs and got out his screwdriver... he wasn't happy that I caught him being so smart.
Another obsession lately... trains. Specifically the 'dinosaur train,' (a show on PBS) he knows several dinosaur names like Tyransourus Rex, Pteranadon, Triceratops, Brachiosaurus, etc, etc. He picks up on so much stuff from the shows he watches... he also loves tunnels and towers.

He has quite the imagination... the broom is a horse, my straigtener an alligator, the pacifier a trumpet, leaves are also feathers... when in the shower we caught him with different shampoo bottles naming them, the big one-daddy the medium one- mommy the little one-baby. He's adorable. It's fun how he knows just enough to try to generalize and name things... like the cantalope I was cutting up was a 'big rock.'
He also now calls anyone who is out of their 30s grandma or grandpa. A few sundays ago he dropped his train over the bench and the family sitting behind us (who will be soon be grandparents- 2 daughters just got married). The dad picked up the toy and gave it to Porter who replied 'Thanks grandpa!' ... if you think thats funny, we went swimming awhile ago and Bryce was giving Porter rides on his back and Porter kept mumbling something when Bryce picked out what he was saying it was funny... 'I'm riding on the back of a whale!'-- so maybe not so funny depending on who you ask =)

Porter and Sadie are the best of friends... now that Porter sleeps upstairs Sadie is protective of him and often sleeps on the foot of his bed. They also play together a lot. Here's a video, it's hard to tell but he is trying to grab Sadie's tongue.

On Saturday's I watch a friends daughter...
sometimes they play well together like these 2 times:

Jumping on the Bed

Playing peek-a-boo over the 'mountain'
Playing a new game/laughing with Daddy
Porter is growing up way too fast... he loves his scripture stories and singing songs with mom and dad before bed. He has started calling everything 'pretty' and says things he 'loves.' Meaning = 'i love juice', 'i love cookies', 'i love carrots' 'i love ladders' 'i love boots'... i could go on and on, its adorable.
He has started saying sorry, thank you, and your welcome. The problem he doesn't really understand. He says 'sorry k' in a lot of situations... it doesn't matter who is in the wrong he's sorry k? If he gets hurt amidst the tears and crying he says 'i sorry k?' And thank you/welcome comes together and isn't quite at the right times. its adorable. Rarely does he say please, usually its a whine.
He thinks things are 'awesome' and excitedly says 'okay!' when you ask him things. He asks 'what are we going to do now?' when something unexpected happens and often says 'what happened here' (probably because I ask him what happened a lot). He is a lot of fun and is we wouldn't trade this stage for anything... well except the ocassional tantrums he throws. He's got a great sense of humor and brings lots of laughs.
Next Up Little Avery... who isn's so little anymore. She is growing up SO fast.

Avery started rice cereal for the first time...

(I snuck some banana in it so it doesn't taste like cardboard)

Now she wants everything we eat... and with my second child I just let her have it.

First time eating an ice cream cone... clearly she hated it!

She grabs everything I'm eating and has a preference for sweet stuff. She helped making cookies on saturday in the bjorn (she woke up in the middle of the process and I really wanted to finish, so she got her first cooking lesson).

One time when Bryce was suppose to be watching her he needed to get some paperwork done so he thought it would be a good idea to give her a flower to play with... she loved it and had a blast.
Her clothes didn't really love the dye mixed with saliva mixture that stained that pair of PJs... oh well she had a good time... gotta love that face!

She also loves to eat her clothes
She doesn't even look like a baby anymore! Cute little shoes!
helping mom cook

a little bit of tummy time... she can now roll onto her stomach, but she doesn't last long. instead she scoots herself around to adjust (most often to see the tv).
Licking Dad

Playing with dad more:

Porter and Avery are starting to play together more...Avery was always a fan... Porter is starting to think she's alright to have around.
Avery loves watching shows with brother and everything he is doing... if she can see him she is much more content.

All this moving made us really tired ... its been a long couple of weeks!
(he passed out one day after refusing to nap)
Last Up 'a Mom and Dad' (as Porter would say):
Dad's been working. moving, fixing, doing ym's stuff, being a dad and a husband--
clearly he is bored out of his mind.
Mom- she's been taking care of kids and trying to find a place for everything
Oh and Sadie-- she's been getting back in shape... she loves the new yard and the park down the street Ginger (Sadies mom) and Jo (Sadies brother) better watch out at Christmas she isn't going to be the slowest pup in the pack anymore!
