real food approved, yay!

So I went to see Dr. Leavitt today... and he said I'm big enough to start eating food (offically). Mom and dad have let me taste stuff for awhile now, but I'm going to start eating what all the other kids are eating now. I did pretty good eating my first bites of rice cereal... its not as tasty as some of the other things i've tried but its all right i guess. Mom and dad took video on the video camera and on the digital camera... seems like the digital camera failed so it'll take some effort to get it up on here... we'll see if mom ever gets around to it.


I would brag about how big I'm getting, but the measuring wasn't to accurate today... they say my head got bigger and my weight went up, but somehow i'm shorter (whatever!). But I did get my shots and i showed that nurse just how strong my lungs are! I had a pretty good day despite the morning trauma! Thanks for reading all about me... I know I love reading my new peek-a moo and peekabo zoo books... they are so fun!!!

I decided to dress up for church today, I'm getting old enough that sweats aren't going to cut it anymore! =) Plus now me and dad match (all the men in priesthood were jealous of my tie!)

A couch potato is born... its sad how much attention he pays to the tv.

Sometimes I suck my thumb, but not too often... I'm really tired!!!

4 Months Old!!!

Porter turned 4 months old on Wednesday... crazy how time flies! According to the bathroom scale he is 18lbs (he has a dr. apt monday so then we'll have an offical weigh in). I'm not sure what to really write on here so figured I would just list Porter's favorite things lately (and mom's favorite- these little slippers:
- talking/babbling... he is rarely quiet always oooohing and making all kinds of noises
-mirrors... he has a best friend at all hours of the day, he giggles and laughs and 'punches' the little guy in the mirror
-speaking of punching he just might be a boxer... he gets his little arm going and just wails on stuff
-he loves fugsicles, tastes of ice cream (or anything you are currently eating), lemons (grandma joyce helped him discover this at dinner), apples and peanut butter, pickles (gross!)... pretty much anything, he is definately his father's son when it comes to food (he likes trying it all!)
-he likes to grab his little stuffed puppy and rolls to the side (like he's tackling it), he hasn't rolled completely over yet... and he loves to stand up
-he likes to 'fly' above your head and loves to be sung to
-he has started making this growlingish noise... probably trying to mimick the sounds his dad makes to scare him or make him laugh (he's finally started to react to making noises on his belly... for the longest time he would just stare at you like you were crazy, but now he laughs and gets all excited)- pretty dang cute!
- he loves swimming and taking baths (today he wouldn't take his midmorning nap because he hadn't had his bath yet, he was cranky until i gave up and tried a bath... silly kid!)
- he likes to watch tv, especially the little einstien show we recorded for him... he has started grabbing the remote lately too... i guess i am a girl so he needs to show me how it works!
- he loves drooling all over everything... its crazy how wet he gets things and he eats everything

That's it for now... I will add a few pictures to this post when I get home from work today. It's crazy all the clothes he's fitting into already... stuff I never thought would fit when he was born is just right these days! (thanks to all of you who knew the day would come so soon so we are prepared for this little guys rapid growth!!)

Bathtime has never been a problem with this little guy... he loves it and the pool, which is good because otherwise I don't know how he would make it thru summers in phoenix... its been just a little hot!











"Uncle" Danny has a big truck like dad used to have... but something just isn't right... it's not a Chevy!

On our way to a pseudo- family reunion we stopped by Lake Powell and visited with Danny & Rachel and Will & Alta so that Bryce could dip his wake board in the water (we haven't been on a lake since we dated) and so Porter could have his first Lake Powell experience... he did SO well we were on the water for 6-7 hours and he endured that life vest well and actually enjoyed swimming after a short period of screaming! He's such a cute kid!

Porter's Record Breaking Day

So because I work these graveyards now you'll get to hear my mumblings about random things. Today Porter didn't want to go to Sunday School with me (I don't blame him) so towards the end of Sacrament Meeting he pooped his diaper all over his new outfit, so I volunteer to change it, not knowing how bad it was... I get to the mother's room and look down and my shirt is COVERED in you know what! So I clean the boy up sneak back into the chapel (with my now naked child) and get keys and go home, change and go back. So then Bryce is home teaching and I'm playing with my cute son and he is flying like an airplane over my head and SPLAT he throws up and it lands on my face, splatters in my hair and all over the clothes that I just put on since I have to work tonight. Oh but this little guy isnt finished... just before I leave for work he does it again... blows another diaper all over another cute outfit he was wearing for the first time. Gotta love being a mom! It's a good thing he is SO dang cute.



He broke one more record while I was at work... sleeping all the way till 5:40am for dad! It's been awhile since he slept thru the night without eating once or twice (I guess he was hard to put down, but then he slept) YAY!
