We read it every nap and every night, he could recite it as we read it. My favorite thing was the morning he asked me for snowman cocoa like the snowman mother's make in the book... so another favorite each morning became snowman cocoa.... what's that you might ask? Chocolate milk... cute huh?
Okay I'll take a picture, but what I really want it the candy (he went back for seconds after the line died down!)
Avery loved Santa... but then she tried to take off his beard. She was like 'Bishop Sandberg why do you have this thing on?'
Avery and Porter were featured in the ward 12 days a christmas as childern crying with these 'crying' photos.

The week of Christmas Grandpa and Grandma Bird and Aunt Melissa came to visit us... they brought LOTS of presents and played with us the week before Christmas. One day we decided to head over to Freestone Park and ride the train, since one little boy in this family is a little obsessed with trains and we 've never taken him.
We just missed the train so while we waited the 15 minutes till it ran again we put Porter on some of the more 'classic'=old carnival rides...
Porter was not certain that it was fun. He wouldn't let go of Bryce's hand and quickly wanted out when it stopped.
Next a car... looked like fun... not so much and then mom put sister in with me. Yuck! I don't want to ride with her.
The mini carosel was a little more fun. He at least smiled.
But then the main even came around : THE TRAIN!!!!

Porter loved the train... when he got off the train he went up to the teenage boy that was driving the train and said, "thank you Mr. Conductor that was fun." The teenager didn't know what to say he was like 'what?'Our son is a cheeseball and has been watching a little too much dinosaur train. He thought it was awesome and asked to go to the train park for weeks to come.
The other days we went to dinner with the Shedlocks and got to go see the Mesa Temple Lights display ... where was the camera? Must have forgoten it like I almost forgot the kids coats. opps!
(Paul and Jeannie got the kids presents- Porter a playdough set and Avery a little ball that lights up and sings... both were big hits! thank you!) It was so fun to see them and spend time with them.
On Christmas Eve I made a dinner- ham, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, yams, corn, rolls and a banana cream pie for desert... yum yum! Then we went to see lights in Val Vista Lakes... Christmas is simple with kids they LOVE the little things.
Porter got to open presents all week... he got a 'Zippity,' a firetruck, quiet books, a train, games, a tag junior and lots of other stuff (my memory is a bit foggy)
Avery got a puppy that sings to her, a cloth book, cute pjs... and a month later her rocking horse was painted by dad (she still to small for it, but she'll grow into it).
Christmas morning Porter got his race tracks, his trampoline, and had so much to open we had to help him a bit... he was a little overwhelmed. Bryce and I also got lots of gifts... Thanks dad, mom and melissa... so much fun stuff!
Porter introduced his new stacking train to the race car track.., he doesnt quite understand size. He got a little frustrated that it didn't fit!
After we opened presents, Bryce made us a yummy breakfast and we packed up and we left for Lakeside to be with Cox Family and my parents went to Las Vegas to be with my grandma.
Christmas Day in Lakeside we had a great dinner then had a gift exchange and talent show... Porter joined in with Kim and Austin and their talent... and also performed 'once there was a snowman' for our family... he was a little shy at first but once everyone joined in he did pretty good.
Justin and Stacy had our family this year... they got us lots of good stuff... Porter got a gorilla that stomps and roars like king kong... they thought he would laugh, but he was terrified of it for a day or so until 'Thomas' was brave enough to stand up to him. Now he loves it... Avery got a glow worm and loved it from the moment she laid eyes on it. Thanks guys!
The next few days we enjoyed the snow... Bryce took the kids sledding.
We took family photos, it was freezing!!! ... I haven't loaded the cd onto my computer cause as you can imagine it was massive... so instead I stole this from either Katie or Joyce blog (thanks!)
So much family, so much fun, we had a great Christmas!!!
