In August work was a little slow for Bryce, so with a little fuel assistance from Grandma and Grandpa Bird we made a trip to San Diego... the kids loved being able to be outside and it was a nice break from 'everyday' life.
We played at the park
We visited Aunt Melissa's classroom and 'helped' her get things ready for the new school year.

And of course we made a couple visits to the beach:

And of course we made a couple visits to the beach:
being buried in the sand became a new favorite for Porter
(video below)
Avery still has no problem with sand being pretty much everywhere!
(lovin' the new sun glasses from grandma)
We finally took time to visited the Mormon Battalion Center...
panning for gold and playing the violin
shooting the gun he somehow convinced grandpa and grandma buy!
Then a week later Bryce had some work up in Lakeside so I unpacked, washed and repacked.
Porter played football with the boys (video below)... and played grandmas piano
Then Jay and Raelynn took us out on a paddle boat (Porter talked about it for WEEKS)
Then the rest of August we just hung out at home.... inside where it wasn't too hot!
goofy Porter... Avery loves ranch... and yes that's an apple on a fork (he's a weird kid)
The boys went to a football game, so us girls went and got ice cream. The second the ice cream was gone Avery grabbed the tv remote because she knew she could actually pick what she wanted to watch instead of getting stuck with what brother wants.
Avery is my little helper... helping with the trash... bagging/eating the cheese she is always one step ahead or behind me my little mommy.
Porter's new carousel favorite... the tea cups:
That's it for August, at least that's all that I can recount because its all the pictures I have.
And here's the videos:
Porter 'surfing.' He had been reading a fred and ted book where they went to an island and went surfing and one used a short board and the other used a long board. As soon as he knew he was going to the beach all he could talk about was going surfing on a long board.
playing on the beach... always fun!
You can tell Porter hasn't played much football, but he had fun learning and being on Dad and Uncle Eric's team.
We watched Justin and Stacy's dogs Cocoa and Bandit...
the kids loved it. Porter like to be 'one of the dogs.'
Porter's love of singing has grown exponentially... he is always singing something here's a few:
(this song is a Grandma Cox favorite Bryce remembers from growing up... he knows it much better now... and Avery sings along too)
